The Green Bay Packers wet the bed in their opening week matchup against the New Orleans Saints, which had critics circling around Aaron Rodgers. The quarterback was surprisingly laid back in his postgame comments about the defeat, which was perceived as apathy by some after his drama-filled offseason.

The Packers star explained his mood, reiterating that one game isn't worth going crazy over despite the obvious need for improvement.

“If we're starting to freak out after one week,” the Packers QB said Thursday, “we're in big trouble.”

To him, letting the huge loss get into their heads would simply be making the problem bigger. Rodgers further explained that his words weren't meant for the media or the fans. They're mainly for his Packers teammates, who he knows wouldn't need doom and gloom or dramatic takes from their leader.

“Every time I'm up here, it's a message to all of them. Now, I wasn't trying to be inspiring,” Packers' Rodgers said of Sunday's postgame message. “I was trying to put the loss in the context where it deserves to be put. And that is, it's not acceptable, but it's just one game and we're not gonna be held prisoner mentally by that poor performance.”

Aaron Rodgers is right that at the end of the day, it's just one loss despite the lopsided score. However, Packers fans will understandably be sweating if Green Bay manages to lose their Week 2 matchup against the Detroit Lions. The Rodgers soundbites during the postgame presser if that happens would definitely be worth staying up for.
