FALL RIVER, Kan. (KAKE) - A 58-year-old man has died after his motorcycle collided with a Kansas deputy's patrol SUV.

The accident happened at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 400 north of Fall River in Greenwood County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the 52-year-old deputy was responding with lights and sirens to an injury crash and attempted to turn left from CC Road to head west on the highway. The patrol vehicle and an eastbound Harley-Davidson crashed in the eastbound lanes.

The man on the motorcycle, Karl Sturm of Republic, Missouri, died at the scene. The deputy was not seriously hurt, and the patrol's crash log doesn't indicate he was hospitalized.
