NEW YORK — United Airlines flights slowly resumed Friday morning after a brief system-wide outage caused the Federal Aviation Administration to issue a ground stop for all United flights.

The ground stop lasted for just under an hour, being lifted before 8 a.m. at the airline’s request, according to an advisory issued by the FAA.

“We experienced a system outage this morning, but everything is up and running and operations have resumed,” the airline tweeted in reply to a customer around 8:15 a.m.

Customers also tweeted to the airline about trouble with their website and mobile app.

“We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible. Please try to log in again in an hour,” read one United reply tweet to a customer who reported issues with the website and app.

It is unclear how many delays have happened, or if there are any related cancellations.
