RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) – North Carolina is one of six states who felt repercussions from power outages that affected Georgia and Alabama, Verizon’s outage map shows.

More than 1,200 Verizon outages were reported, according to the online map.

As of 7:45 a.m., 1,232 outages had been reported in Charlotte, Columbia, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi.

But a spokesperson for Verizon said most were in Georgia and Alabama, and power was restored early this morning. The spokesperson could not give a definitive time of the outage or restoration and did not say what caused the outage.

“Some of our customers in Georgia and Alabama may have experienced a disruption in service overnight.  Our network team quickly identified and fixed the issue, and service was fully restored early this morning,” Verizon said in a statement.
