Roker Riches 2021-22: Fleetwood Away - what’s your bet when Sunderland visit Grayson’s gaff?

Sunderland seek to continue their great run with an away visit to Fleetwood Town next up. Where’s your wager landing?

Welcome to another edition of Roker Riches. This weekend the lads are away to Fleetwood Town, hoping to get rid of yet another hoodoo (not winning at their gaff) which has lasted since we started our recent footballing lives at this level.

Hopefully, we see some of our new talent from the transfer window and the top of the league winning run can carry on. We may stay top even if we draw, given we have a couple of points lead over Wigan, and a three-point lead over third or lower, with a game in hand on the closer ones.

Better to keep the future in our own hands with a solid win over Grayson’s Cod Lot, on that we will all agree.

The Roker Riches table...

A few wins again last weekend, though some of them weren’t exactly ground-breaking odds (eh Danny!) which means costs are just about covered and that’s it for those more cautious betting boys.

Malc takes his lead to just over a ton, and a good win for Gair lifts him up a couple of places to 5th, leaving Bomber and Michael under the £200 mark and propping up the table.

Banker’s Bonus...

The Banker’s bonus this time is about that hoodoo removal.

A win will keep us top of the league with (hopefully even more) points to spare, and will remove another stat we want to erase, in a time when we have been doing just that, time after time.

Defeat Grayson and the Cod Army at the above stadium, in any way, and a crisp tenner is awarded to all RR punters for next weekend's game.

This round’s bets...

Anthony Gair says...

BTTS ACCA:

Wigan, Bolton and Sunderland to win and BTTS - £10 returns £1246 with Bet365. Ambitious? Yes! Impossible? No! Get it on!

Fleetwood vs Sunderland: Goal Fest:

I fancy us to start bagging all of these chances we’ve been having. We should have had 5/6 against Accrington Stanley and the lads will be desperate to start putting these away!

4.5 goals in this game is 7/1 so I’ll be putting £10 on that, returning £80… that would buy you a few pints on Sunday!

Luke ‘Bomber’ Davies says...

Sunderland Bet Builder:

Last weeks bet builder was done before a ball was kicked as Leon Dajaku didn’t make the matchday squad. Hoping for some better fortune away to Fleetwood by backing the following;

- Sunderland to win, Embleton anytime scorer, Under 4.5 goals, Sunderland to score in both halves. £5 returns £60

Goals Galore 4-fold:

Simple start this week I’m that I’ve gone with four games that I think have the potential for goals. I’m backing the following at Over 2.5;

Hull v Sheffield United, Huddersfield v Nottingham Forest, Accrington v Wigan, Wycombe v Charlton. £5 returns £79.85

Phil Butler says...

Sunderland to win and Embleton to score:

I really fancy Sunderland for this weekend’s game, and with some unlikely scorers in the last couple of games it’s about time one of our front four got back on the score sheet. £5 returns £32.50.

Italian Treble:

Jose Mourinho’s Roma to continue their good start with a win at Verona, AC Milan to extend Juve’s poor start and Fiorentina to get the better of Genoa. £5 returns £76.01

Paul Fletcher says…

Sunderland to win 3-1:

Fleetwood have had three decent results in their last three outings but it’s time for that good run to end. We might concede a goal but I’m confident we’ll score more than they do. £5 returns £95

Optimistic treble:

My fourfolds haven’t been coming in so I’m going to mix it up and opt for fewer results but with slightly better odds. Millwall, Bolton and Exeter to all win their home games tomorrow. £5 returns £75.30

Danny Roberts says...

Sunderland to win 3-1:

I fancy us to get the win and hope that we get theee goals to make it a comfortable afternoon. £5 returns £95.

EFL Quad:

Huddersfield to beat a very poor Nottingham Forest; Bolton, who’ve had a great start to life back in League One, to edge past Rotherham; Portsmouth to beat Cambridge and Sheffield Wednesday to get back to winning way against Shrewsbury. £5 returns £90.40

Malc Dugdale says...

SAFC to win 1-0 away:

It really is time the hoodoo is put to bed, but I think it will likely be by the odd goal. Skybet are giving 6-1 for this score, which we would all take (or better) just to keep the points racking up. Fiver returns £35 including stake.

5 way acca:

I think all of the following will win this Saturday, and with them all banged together in a 5 way accumulator, the odds are OK too.

Liverpool and Man City in the Prem, and Huddersfield, Borough and West Brom in the next level down all to get 3 points. Odds of just over 8-1 returns £46.25 including my fiver stake.

Michael Dunne says...

Ross Stewart to score anytime and 1-1 draw:

We always find it difficult at Fleetwood and I expect it to be no different. Simon Grayson will be eager to ensure we do not have a comfortable afternoon. That being said, I do not expect us to lose. In what I anticipate to be a scrappy affair, I can see a 1-1 draw scoring with our Scottish striker getting a goal. Probably to equalise. 1-1 with Ross Stewart to score anytime returns £95.00 from £5

PL Away Treble:

Nothing too dramatic here, just an away treble from the Premier League. I expect Leeds to take care of our neighbours up the road, who seem to be in an awful state at present. Whilst it is conceivable that the other two games chosen can be seen as risky enough, Manchester United’s form away from home has been incredible over the last year. I can see them taking care of West Ham while I am backing Chelsea who tend to have the edge over their London rivals. £5 returns £36.97.

Please remember to gamble responsibly, and enjoy the footy!
