Clover Health brings COVID-19 vaccines to Medicare Advantage members' homes

Clover Health is kick-starting a new initiative to provide the COVID-19 vaccine to Medicare Advantage members right in their homes.

The move is part of a collaborative effort with New York City-based MedArrive as it begins serving members in New Jersey, according to the Sept. 16 announcement.

The partnership with MedArrive allows registered nurses to administer the vaccine to Medicare Advantage members who face transportation, mobility or social barriers.

"Many Clover members have disabilities or face other challenges that can make it difficult for them to leave their homes, even to obtain life-saving medical care like the COVID-19 vaccine," said Kumar Dharmarajan, MD, Clover Health associate chief medical officer. "This service allows our most vulnerable members to get essential care in the most timely and convenient way possible, which we believe will ultimately improve their quality of life, reduce hospital admissions and drive down healthcare costs."
