Oak Ridge battles Lenoir City Friday in a tough district matchup

Oak Ridge Wildcats are coming off of a tough 35-30 loss to Farragut and are looking for redemption. They need a district win against Lenoir City this Friday, Sept. 17. The kickoff is at 7 p.m. in Lenoir City.

Last week, the Wildcats scratched their way back to within a touchdown of a win, by recovering an onside kick. This later resulted in a touchdown with only seconds remaining on the clock. Later they recovered, yet another onside kick on the 50-yard line. Unfortunately, they couldn't capitalize on that one. They ended up with 237 yards passing and only 91 yards rushing.

The last time that Oak Ridge and Lenoir City met was in 2016. The visiting Wildcats tromped the Panthers 48-8. They passed for 200 yards and ran for 107 yards, while holding the Panthers to only 80 yards rushing and 125 yards passing.

Hopefully, Oak Ridge can recreate that magic and get back on track.
