On Wednesday, news broke that Florida starting linebacker Ventrell Miller would miss at least Saturday’s game against Alabama. Further reporting Thursday revealed that Miller will be out for the rest of the year with a torn biceps tendon.

Miller was coming off of a 2020 season in which he led the team in tackles with 88 and added on 3.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles-for-loss. In 2 games of the 2021 season, Miller led the team with 7 total tackles (2 solo) against Florida Atlantic. He recorded a solo tackle in UF’s Week 2 win over USF.

A redshirt senior, Miller is in his fifth year at Florida. The NCAA’s COVID eligibility waiver for the 2020 season opens the door for Miller to potentially return for a sixth season with the Gators.
