The Tarrant County Commissioners Court unanimously adopted a total tax rate of $0.229000 per $100 valuation for Tarrant County in fiscal year 2021-22 on Sept. 14.

The rate includes a maintenance and operation rate of $0.213553 per $100 valuation, and a debt service rate of $0.015447 per $100 valuation.

The total tax rate represents a reduction from fiscal year 2021-21 of just over 2%, according to County Administrator G.K. Maenius.

The court is expected to vote on its operating budget for the upcoming fiscal year at its next meeting, set for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Also at the meeting, the court adopted a tax rate of $0.224429 per $100 valuation for Tarrant County's hospital district and a rate of $0.081900 per $100 valuation for the emergency services district.


The court unanimously approved the hospital district’s budget for fiscal year 2021-22, and received and filed the budget for the emergency services district.
