Amazon is coming to the Tri-Cities and bringing 1,500 jobs.
The new Amazon facilities will create more than 1.500 full-time jobs in the Tri-City region with an average starting wage of $18 per hour, comprehensive benefits and longer-term career opportunities for local residents. They will be across the street from each other in Pasco at 1351 South Road 40 East and 1202 South Road 40 East.
"There's two different kinds of jobs," said Pasco City Manager Dave Zabell. "One right now is we have the construction industry... working very feverishly, and that's going to continue over the several months. Sometime about mid-next year, perhaps earlier, we'll start to see a pretty heightened recruiting effort by amazon for the actual workers that will work in this factory. Their goal is to have this factory opened early next fall in time for the holiday season online shopping and be able to serve the Tri-Cities and greater region."
Amazon's SVP of Global Customer Fulfillment Alicia Boler Davis said "We're excited to open two new, state-of-the-art facilities in the city of Pasco. Pasco offers a talented workforce, and we look forward to growing employment in the Tri-City region."
