A first trailer for thriller John and the Hole, which stars Dexter's Michael C Hall and American Horror Story's Taissa Farmiga, has been released.
The psychological horror-thriller, which is described as like "Home Alone reworked by Michael Haneke", centres on an affluent family held hostage by their young son.
"13 year-old John decides to hold his affluent family captive in an underground bunker behind their house," the synopsis reads.

"Left without supervision, John experiences newfound independence, exploring the difficult passage from childhood freedom to adult responsibility in this chilling psychological horror-thriller."
Going by the tense first trailer, which shows Hall in the role of father Brad and Farmiga as sister Laurie, we're in for a pretty creepy ride as John (Charlie Shotwell) questions what it's like to be an adult, before events take an increasingly disturbing turn.
Directed by Pascual Sisto and written by Nicolás Giacobone (Birdman), John and the Hole also stars Saint Maud's Jennifer Ehle.
Alongside the new movie, Hall will soon be seen in the Dexter revival series, returning to the role of the titular serial killer following the show's controversial original ending.
Speaking recently about oft-criticised 2013 conclusion, the star told Times Radio: "It's been gratifying and I think the show ended in a way that was pretty mystifying at best if not infuriating for people, but that at least set the stage for us to return and answer more definitively what the hell happened to this guy.
"I totally support what happened, the choice he makes at the end, but as far as the execution goes, we were all running on vapor at that point, so I get it."
John and the Hole is set for release in UK cinemas and on digital platforms in October 8.
