On Sunday, the Colts will look to avoid an 0-2 start for the first time 2017 when the host the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams come into Lucas Oil Stadium off of a dominant debut from QB Matthew Stafford in LA’s 34-14 win against Chicago.

For The Dan Dakich Show, the major key to slowing down Stafford and the Rams, is pressuring the quarterback.

“If the Colts are any good, they should be able to rush Matthew Stafford and make it difficult for him,” Dakich told listeners on Thursday.

Now even though the Rams O-Line had major concerns heading into the season, LA was able to hold its own against the Bears.

Still, as Dan pointed out, Stafford doesn’t have the same elusiveness as that of Russell Wilson or Josh Allen.

“Matthew Stafford is 275 years old for crying out loud.” Dakich said. “If the Colts are athletic upfront, Stafford should be able to be pressured.”

The Colts defense left much to be desired against the Seahawks last week.

If they hope to avoid that 0-2 start, the likes of Deforest Buckner and Darius Leonard must make their presence known to Stafford early and often.
