A search of a Hesperia motel room on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021 found police vests, replica law enforcement badges, drugs and firearms. Authorities arrested the pair who occupied the room and believe they were impersonating deputies and robbing homes.

A Hesperia man and woman suspected of impersonating deputies and robbing homes were arrested earlier this week, and authorities are seeking out people the pair may have stopped.

Bobby Bohannon, 34, and Kayden Cotter, 19, were both booked into county jail Tuesday after gang deputies served a search warrant at a motel in the 14300 block of Main Street, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.

Bohannon and Cotter were stopped that day driving a silver Ford F-150 with a California license plate reading 76969C.

Authorities said the vehicle was found “equipped with an audible siren and law enforcement style, forward-facing lights.”

“A search of Bohannon and Cotter’s motel room resulted in the recovery of multiple police style vests, various replica law enforcement badges, a 9mm pistol, an AR-15 style rifle, methamphetamine, and marijuana,” the sheriff’s department said.

Officials added that they believe the pair could be involved in “recent home invasion robberies.”

A Ford F-150 deputies pulled over in Hesperia on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021 which they said was equipped with a siren and law enforcement-style lights. Authorities believe the pair driving the vehicle were impersonating deputies and robbing homes.

Bohannon and Cotter were scheduled for an arraignment Thursday in Victorville.

Both face numerous charges, including possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of an assault weapon and impersonating a peace officer, according to court records.

Hearing information was not immediately available to show if Bohannon or Cotter attended their hearings or entered any pleas.

They were both being held in county jail in lieu of $50,000 bail as of Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said investigators would like anyone stopped by Bohannon or Cotter, or anyone who may have further information about this case, to contact Deputy J. Zeman with the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division at 909-380-8400.
