Adams County Health Department urges people to get flu shots

QUINCY, Ill., (KHQA) —
The Adams County Health Department, ACHD, is urging people to get their flu shot this year as we continue to battle COVID-19, both of which can cause severe respiratory illness.

The ACHD offers seasonal influenza immunizations to the public Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. at the health department on a walk-in basis.
The department is also providing flu clinics:
- Sunday, September 26 | Drive-thru Clinic , John Wood Community College, 1301 S 48th St. Quincy | 11:00am-2:00pm
- Wednesday, September 29 | Central High School, 2110 HWY 94 N, Camp Point | 3:00pm-5:30pm
- Wednesday, October 6 | Quincy Senior Center , 639 York, Quincy | 3:00pm-6:00pm
- Thursday, October 7 | Unity Elementary School, 136 W. Washington, Mendon | 3:00pm-5:30pm
- Monday, October 25 | Liberty Elementary School, 505 N Park ST, Liberty | 3:00pm-5:30pm
- Tuesday, October 26 | Payson Seymour Elementary School, 404 W State ST, Payson | 3:00pm-5:30pm
The cost for flu vaccines is $35.
The ACHD will also be able to bill most insurance, Illinois Medicaid and Medicare at community flu clinics and at the health department.

People using their health insurance need to bring their insurance card. Most insurances offer a $0 co-pay.
