Four business leaders to receive Cleveland's 'highest civilian award'

The Cleveland Heritage Medal recognizes those who have made meritorious contributions to the welfare and development of Cleveland and its citizens.

Four business leaders will receive this year's Cleveland Heritage Medal, considered the highest civilian award in Greater Cleveland.

Established in 2016, the Cleveland Heritage Medal recognizes those who have made meritorious contributions to the welfare and development of Cleveland and its citizens, according to a MetroHealth System press release.

This year's winners are:

  • Richard Bogomolny, retired chairman and CEO of First National Supermarkets Inc. (Finast).
  • Margot James Copeland, retired chair and CEO of the KeyBank Foundation.
  • Beth Mooney, retired chairwoman and CEO, KeyCorp.
  • Margaret Wong, founder and managing partner of Margaret W. Wong & Associates LLC, an immigration law firm.

The Cleveland Heritage Medal will be awarded to its honorees during a presentation dinner on Nov. 18 at Cleveland City Hall, according to the release.

The 2021 Cleveland Heritage Medal Committee chairs were Dr. Akram Boutros, president and CEO of MetroHealth in Cleveland, and Trina Evans, chief of staff and director of corporate center for Cleveland-based KeyBank.

The medal committee was made up of a diverse group of 20 community and corporate leaders, according to the release.
