The Midway Village Museum, 6799 Guilford Road, Rockford, will hold World War II Days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 19.

1. See the attractions at Midway Village’s World War II Days

The Midway Village Museum, 6799 Guilford Road, Rockford, will hold World War II Days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 19. The event will include 1940s displays in historical buildings on the museum’s 148-acre campus, which will become the back drop of a European village during World War II. Festivities will include encampments of Allied and Axis troops in the Midway Village woods and elaborate and realistic battles complete with tanks, artillery, armored vehicles and pyrotechnic displays. Veterans will receive free admission, which is valid on both days. Early entry for veterans is at 9 a.m. Sept. 18 only at the Water Tower Gate off of the Rec Path parking area. Pig Minds Brewing Co. will host a Victory Beer Garden for both days, selling beer, brats and vegan brats. Cost: $16, adults; $9, ages 3-17; $12, active military; free for museum members, ages 2 and younger and veterans.

2. Peruse the Greenwich Village Art Fair

The 73rd Greenwich Village Art Fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 18 at Riverfront Museum Park, 711 N. Main St., Rockford. The event will feature 55 juried artists, live music from local musicians, an artisan marketplace, children’s art activities, food trucks and cocktails. An after-party and music event will take place until 9:30 p.m. Admission: $5, adults; free, ages 12 and younger. Tickets will be available at the gate for cash only. Proceeds will support RAM programs throughout the year.

3. Make a stop at the B-25 Mitchell Tour

The B-25 Mitchell Tour will be present Sept. 17-19 at the Chicago Rockford International Airport - Chronos Aviation, 5121 Falcon Road, Rockford. This B-25 Mitchell aircraft has been on display in the Eagle Hangar of the EAA museum for decades. Now, fully restored in her silver screen markings, "Berlin Express" is ready for her next mission. Flights and ground tours will be available. Flights will run at 10 and 11 a.m., noon and 1 p.m. The cost per flight is $360 for Experimental Aircraft Association members and $400 for nonmembers.
