Often times, animals who end up in shelters don't have an exact age or precise birthday. The veterinarians can make a good estimation, but without knowing exactly when a stray or owner-surrender was born, it's hard to be accurate. Generally, people celebrate their rescue pups' special day on August 1st each year.
Fort Worth Animal Shelter is holding a party for those doggos this weekend. On Saturday, September 18th, the North Campus at 351 Hillshire will host a celebration and adoption event from 7-9pm. They are hoping some of the puppers who have been in their custody for years will get adopted.
The available pets have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are current on all shots. There will be cake for humans and of course, the mutts of honor.
