‘Bringing Up Bates’ Fans Confused: Was Season 10 Cut Short?
Bringing Up Bates fans were thrilled to find out that the show has been renewed for another season. Season 11 is set to premiere on UPtv in February, and you can get all of the details about the upcoming season here.
But fans still have questions about Season 10. On Reddit, fans are talking about the show and sharing their speculations about what happened to the remaining episodes of Season 10. One fan shared an announcement post about the show’s renewal and then pointed out that Season 10 didn’t finish airing.
Season 10 only had 10 episodes. The prior nine seasons have had anywhere from 13 to 24 episodes. Season 9 had 22 episodes, Season 8 had 24, and Season 7 had 20. So, it was assumed that Season 10 would have at least 20.
Season 10 Episode 10 aired on June 24. The new season won’t premiere until February. So, there is certainly plenty of time for another 10 episodes to air prior to the Season 11 premiere. On Reddit, a fan points this out, writing, “Are they maybe starting the next 10 in season 10 soon? They could show 10 in October and November then take a couple months off before airing season 11.”
One fan writes, “My guess would be that covid messed up the filming schedule.” Others point out that several members of the Bates family had Covid as well, so they couldn’t film during that time.
Another chimes in, “COVID effed everything for media, I’m sure that’s why the season was so short.”
Was Bringing Up Bates Season 10 shortened?
Fans think that the season could have been cut short for some reason. But the network has yet to make any official announcements about the remainder of the season. So, there’s no way to know for sure what happened.
As of now, UPtv hasn’t announced whether the second half of Season 10 will be airing. It’s unclear if the whole season was filmed or if it was cut short for some reason. It doesn’t look like UPtv will be airing new episodes of the show until the Season 11 premiere in February. While promoting Season 10 Episode 10 on YouTube, UPtv referred to the episode as the season finale.
