Free Fishing Day takes place during Alabama’s red snapper season. While fishing license requirements are waived for Free Fishing Day, those fishing for red snapper will still need a $10 Gulf Reef Fish Endorsement and a free saltwater angler registration. For more information, click here.

GreenPal App:

A new app launches in Huntsville that promises to help folks get their lawn care needs taken care of in a snap.

GreenPal connects homeowners with local, vetted lawn care professionals, said the app’s co-founder, Gene Caballero, who describes it as the “Uber of lawn care”.

“Homeowners needing their lawn mowed will go to our website or download the app, enter the address of the property they want done and also the date,” said Caballero. “That alerts all the pre-screened vendors in the area that there’s a new lawn up for bid. Those vendors bid on the property based on the Google area view, the Google street view, and the square footage.”

Currently on the app, about 50 landscaping professionals in Huntsville have signed up and are seeking your services.
