Stabilis expands Gulf Coast LNG bunkering
US energy company Stabilis said September 16 it reached a preliminary arrangement to undertake LNG bunkering at the Port of Isabel in Texas.
Stabilis signed a memorandum of understanding with the Port Isabel Logistical Offshore Terminal (PILOT) to use LNG as a marine fuel at the port. This is the third US Gulf Coast bunkering agreement for Stabilis.

"With the addition of PILOT to our network, Stabilis is now able to provide LNG bunkering services throughout much of the Gulf Coast."
Stabilis under the terms of the agreement it will use its existing assets to provide LNG from a liquefaction plant in Texas to support the bunkering. Services are expected to begin early next year.
Stabilis signed a similar agreement in August to offer LNG fuelling services at the Texas port of Galveston with port operator Galveston Wharves.
Under the agreement, the two sides will provide turnkey LNG fuelling solutions to ships that call on the port, identifying suitable dock space for shore-to-ship fuelling operations, securing needed permits and approvals, identifying potential customers and undertaking the fuelling operations.
Stabilis already provids LNG bunkering services at the port of Corpus Christi, also in Texas.
