CAMDEN (WGME) – A Camden man allegedly held a woman against her will for more than a week and sexually assaulted her.

Police charged 34-year-old Richard J. Ellis with kidnapping, gross sexual assault, aggravated assault, criminal threatening, obstructing the report of crime or injury and violation of a condition of release.
According to police, Ellis took the woman’s cellphone, glasses, and car keys and prevented her from leaving a home on Park Street in Camden.
The woman was able to call for help on Wednesday. She was reportedly taken to Pen Bay Medical Center in Rockport for treatment.
