More than 300 DTE Energy customers in portions of Milan, Frenchtown and Brownstown townships lost power during a thunder and lightning storm that brought some welcome rains to the Monroe County region Tuesday night.

The two largest outages were in Milan Township west of the City of Milan and along Sibley Rd. in Brownstown Township between Telegraph Rd. and I-75. The Milan outage happened at 5:39 p.m. Tuesday and was bounded on the north by Arkona Rd., on the south by Milwaukee Rd., on the east by Dennison Rd. and on the west by Ford Hwy. in nearby Macon Township, according to the DTE Outage Map. The map listed the time of restoration for the outage at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The Brownstown outage started at 8:46 p.m. Tuesday and was attributed to an equipment problem, DTE said. There was no restoration time set for the outage.

A large tree limb fell on M-50 in the Village of Dundee about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, blocking traffic on Main St. A crew from the village Department of Public Works had to cut up the branch and remove it so the lanes of traffic could be reopened, said David Uhl, village manager. No other storm damage was reported in the village, Uhl said.

The Dundee Wastewater Treatment Plant measured nearly a half-inch of precipitation overnight from the storm. It’s the first moisture to fall in the region since a half-inch fell Sept. 7 during a tornado warning that was issued for the county.
