Two men have been arrested in connection to a robbery at D'Leon's in Lincoln Monday.
After canvassing the scene of D'Leon's following reports of a robbery, Lincoln Police viewed store surveillance video.
In the video, police were able to identify Timothy Washington, 38. Witnesses reported seeing Washington flee the store before getting into a Jeep Cherokee parked down the street.
According to the Lincoln Police Department (LPD), investigators determined the Jeep Cherokee belonged to Kevin Tomlin, 33, and that he was driving the vehicle at the time of the robbery.
On Sept. 15 around 2:00 p.m., police located Washington in the parking lot of Russ's Market on 17th and Washington as he was getting onto a moped.
Washington attempted to flee on the moped and later collided with the passenger side of a police vehicle. He then fled on foot before being taken into custody.
The moped Washington used to flee was later determined to have been stolen on Sept. 1, 2021.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue arrived on scene to check Washington for injuries, but no injuries were reported.
Tomlin was taken into custody without incident at a Casey's on 900 South Street around 4:30 p.m. that day. He was found sitting in the Jeep Cherokee used in the D'Leon's robbery, according to LPD.
Approximately $1,500 in damages to the police vehicle and $1,000 in damages to the moped were reported.
Washington and Tomlin were both arrested for robbery.
LPD says the investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be levied.
