New York Rangers defenceman Adam Fox is coming off a solid season, one that saw him win the Norris Trophy. He now has his sights on one thing, making the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

"You can only say you're a young team for so long, or you're only in a developmental phase for so long," Fox said, according to NHL.com's Dan Rosen. "We have pieces and a lot of really good players, so I think it's probably playoffs or it's a disappointing year for a lot of guys. It starts in camp and gelling together."

The Rangers have a young, talented group with the likes of Fox, Alexis Lafreniere, Kaapo Kakko, Igor Shesterkin, along with veterans Mika Zibanejad, Chris Kreider and Artemi Panarin. They'll go into the 2021-22 season with a sense of optimism, which they hope will push them over the finish line to qualify for the playoffs.

Fox went on to add, "We should definitely take a step forward. We've been a young team for the past few years and it only gets better with more experience."

New York will open up their 2021-22 campaign when they take on the Washington Capitals on October 13th. After the late season matchups between the two teams in 2020-21, this game should be an interesting one to watch.
