The Washington Football Team are preparing for an all-NFC East showdown against the New York Giants at home Thursday night. If you're not a fan of either team, you might still have a heavy interest in this game for a number of betting — and fantasy reasons. And if you're concerned about the status of Washington running back Antonio Gibson, allow us to deliver the good news in a scented envelope: he is healthy and ready to play.
Antonio Gibson was among the Washington Football Team's players who were limited in practice earlier this week, as he was reportedly dealing with a shoulder issue. That was enough to make his fantasy owners, but everything looks okay now. Plus, Washington did not really practice on Monday, so Gibson's limited designation was likely just precautionary more than anything else.
In Week 1, Gibson led the Washington Football Team with 90 rushing yards on 20 carries against a respectable Los Angeles Chargers defense. Antonio Gibson's fantasy ceiling is also quite high because of his pass-catching ability, and he showed a little bit of that in that game, as he posted 18 receiving yards on three catches. The yardage was minimal, but he got five looks on passing plays — the most on the team.
Expect the Washington Football Team to continue getting Antonio Gibson involved in the passing attack, especially since it doesn't look like his usage is threatened at all by somebody behind him on the running back pecking order.

Also consider that last week, the Giants allowed Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon rack up 101 rushing yards on 11 carries, with 70 of those yards coming from a huge 70-yard touchdown run. That's something to keep in mind with regards to Antonio Gibson because of his potential to extend plays beyond the first contact.

Plus, it doesn't seem Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera has any plans of putting a cap on Gibson's usage, per Ben Standig of The Athletic.
