It was a pretty cool surprise to learn that Tim Roth was returning to the MCU as Abomination in the upcoming Disney+ series She-Hulk. I honestly never thought that I’d see Roth back in that role. Then the character ended up appearing in Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings, which was also cool! Roth did do the voice work for the character in that film.

We aren’t exactly sure how the character will be utilized in She-Hulk or what his future looks like in the MCU, but Roth talked about reprising his role in the series, telling THR:

"I did The Incredible Hulk years ago, just because I thought my kids would be embarrassed by it. I did it for them and I really enjoyed making it. So when they came to me and said: 'We're adapting the She-Hulk thing. Can you come back as that character again?' I was like, sure. It should be fun. I was very surprised though because it was difficult at first. It was only when Mark Ruffalo came in to shoot his stuff that I went: 'Oh, that's how you do it! With a sense of humor!'"

One thing we do know about Abomination is that it looks like he might be more of a good guy these days and not the villain that he used to be.

Tatiana Maslany plays Jennifer Walters a.k.a. She-Hulk. She is a lawyer and cousin of Bruce Banner, “who inherits his Hulk powers after she receives a blood transfusion from him. Unlike Bruce, however, when she hulks out Jennifer is able to retain most of her personality, intelligence, and emotional control.”

The series also stars Renée Elise Goldsberry and Ginger Gonzaga. Mark Ruffalo reprises his role of Bruce Banner, and Jameela Jamil will star in a major role in the upcoming series. She will be taking on the role of Titania, “a Marvel supervillain with incredible strength and a frequent rival of She-Hulk.”

The series is being directed and executive produced by Kat Coiro. She will direct the pilot and additional episodes of the series. Jessica Gao is the head writer for the series and also serves as executive producer.

She-Hulk is expected to premiere in 2022.
