CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Reds second baseman Jonathan India has solidified his National League Rookie of the Year candidacy and his latest accomplishment is surely a nice addition to his résumé.
When the 24-year-old was plunked in the fifth inning of Wednesday's game at the Pittsburgh Pirates, he set a mark that's never before been achieved by any player in Major League Baseball history.
According to Stats By STATS, he is the is the first rookie in MLB history to have at least 20 homers, get hit by a pitch 20 time and record 10 stolen bases in a season.
India is hitting .272 with 20 homers and 66 RBI.
He ranks in the top 20 in the National League in batting average, walks (tied for 8th with 63), on-base percentage (7th at .378), and OPS (.842).
His 3.9 WAR is also better than any rookie in all of MLB.
