Isaiah Thomas is a well-traveled NBA veteran. Next stop, San Francisco? The Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry are hoping to come back in a big way after missing the NBA playoffs two seasons in a row.
Klay Thompson intends to make his return around Christmas after missing two straight seasons, and while it will take some time to get his legs under him, he should provide a boost.
The Warriors are also hoping prized youngsters James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody will help the team, whether it's on the court or as part of a trade package.
With the 2021-22 season approaching, the training camp roster isn't quite finished. According to HoopsHype, former All-Star Isaiah Thomas is due to have a workout with the Warriors next week.
Golden State is still looking for more depth behind superstar point guard Stephen Curry. Big things are expected out of Jordan Poole, but he's more of a shooting guard than a point guard. Gary Payton II and Chris Chiozza (two-way deal) are also around, while veteran Andre Iguodala can play point in a pinch.
Thomas hasn't been an impactful NBA player for a few years because of his hip issues, but he's at least worth a look. The Warriors are continuing to scour the market for point guard depth. If Thomas gets the contract, he will be a worthy addition. He would bring veteran experience and a bit more scoring pop to a team that was awful offensively when Curry was on the bench.
