Kroger Will Require Employees To Wear Masks

Masks are coming back everywhere and now Kroger will require all of its employees to wear masks.

Part of me feels like this isn't a good sign. Remember how we slowly started intergrating masks into our daily lives, and as things got better and covid cases started to slow down we got rid of the whole mask thing? Well now imagine that scenario but in reverse.

The Fortune 500 supermarket chain brought that mandate back recently. It now goes for all employees, vaccinated or not.

Based on the CDC’s science-based guidance, we are updating our mask policy in a way that balances our values of safety and respect,” the spokesperson said. “Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kroger family of companies’ most urgent priority has been the safety of our associates and customers. Now before you go punch your local Kroger worker in the face for wearing a mask, just know that's a part of their job. Also, I wanna address the elephant in the room when it comes to wearing masks. However you feel about wearing a mask, just know that it makes the people around you feel more comfortable. As a relatively young man myself I understand that getting covid at my age and health won't exactly equal a death sentence. But there are people around us all the time with compromised immune systems. And for them, COVID is at the forefront of their mind every day. So do us a favor, don't be a jerk if you decide to go without a mask. Just be mindful of those around you.
