Announced at the start of the year and released in China and Japan, the ASUS Republic of Gamers x IKEA Gaming collection is now set for a stateside release. Building on its aim to create a better everyday life for the many people, the Swedish furniture specialist teamed up with ASUS’ gaming sub-brand to cater to the over 2.5 billion gamers worldwide.

In a collision of expertise, the duo created an expansive range of high-performing products and solutions for a gaming setup. The collection of over 30 furniture and accessories serves to “democratize the gaming experience by creating relevant, functional, beautiful and affordable products and complete gaming solutions.”

“We know a lot about gamer needs, pain points and expectations, and we want to design solutions for ultimate, immersive gaming experiences,” says Johnny Chan, designer at Republic of Gamers.

“We want our products to offer better ergonomics and functions so that gamers can become even better at what they do without wearing out their bodies – become better athletes, basically,” said IKEA designer Jon Karlsson.

The ASUS Republic of Gamers x IKEA Gaming collection is divided into six product families: UPPSPEL, LÅNESPELARE, MATCHSPEL, GRUPPSPEL, UTESPELARE and HUVUDSPELARE. Items include furniture like gaming desks, chairs and storage, along with accessories like a mug holder, mouse bungee, neck pillow, ring light and more.

ASUS ROG and IKEA worked in close collaboration on the UPPSPEL products, while the rest of the collection was developed by IKEA based on insights and knowledge regarding function, design and price shared by ROG.

“Gamers globally know and love the ROG brand, and they trust it to deliver the most exciting gaming innovations in the market,” says Kris Huang, General Manager of the ASUS Gaming Gear and Accessory Business Unit. “Our new partnership with the experts at IKEA will allow ROG to find new and interesting ways to delight gamers in and around the home.”

“We believe there’s a lot to be done to democratize the gaming experience,” says Ewa Rychert, Global Business Leader of Workspace, IKEA of Sweden. “Now, we take the first step on our gaming journey, and we do it by presenting affordable, high-performing gaming products and complete solutions that we hope reflect people’s personality and taste.”

Priced between $8 and $600 USD, take a full look at the ASUS Republic of Gamers x IKEA Gaming collection above and look for the range to be available at IKEA locations nationwide this October. Head over to IKEA-USA.com/Gaming to learn more about the collaboration.
