HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Quinnipiac University is mourning the death of one of its students.
The university announced Thursday morning that 20-year-old Cristian Caamano, of Manhasset, New York, passed away at his off-campus home in Hamden. According to school officials, Caamano was a fourth-year student studying entrepreneurship in the School of Business.
Hamden Police said they were called to the home on Whitney Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday after they received a report of an unresponsive man. Caamano was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they do not suspect foul play and believe Caamano’s death is an isolated incident.
Caamano’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
On Friday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner said the cause of death was “pending further studies.”
