The Milwaukee Brewers will take today off to lick their wounds from a lost series in Detroit, and will return to action Friday with their big N-L Central Division lead still intact.
The Tigers’ 4-1 victory Wednesday afternoon completed the two-game series sweep.
All-Star right-hander Brandon Woodruff took the loss despite a quality start. He completed six innings, giving up four hits and three runs, with a walk and seven strikeouts.
Since a 9-24 start, Detroit has been nine games over .500 and claimed victories five times in the last six outings.
The Cubs will visit American Family Field Friday for a 7:10 p-m game. Adrian Houser will start for Milwaukee.
