The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the 27-year-old Falepopo Te’o as the man who lost his life after a two-vehicle collision in Federal Way.
Speed and the tow truck driver’s failure to yield were found out to be the contributing factors in a Sept. 2 crash that claimed the life a 27-year-old man in Federal Way. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries and his death was determined to be an accident.
Just before 7 p.m. Sept. 2, Federal Way officers actively responded to the area of 4300 block of SW 320th Street on reports of a serious collision. The investigation reports revealed that the tow truck was heading west on SW 320th Street at 43rd Place SW when the driver, a 24-year-old man, tuned left in front of a two-door Honda sedan that was going east on SW 320th Street.
The tow truck driver’s failure to yield while taking the turn was found to be the main contributing factor of the crash while speed also played a part. Reports further said that Te’o was driving at around 50 mph when he first applied the brakes while driving east on SW 320th Street on Sept. 10.
The section of the road where the Incident happened is a 35 mph zone. The driver of the tow truck remained unharmed in the accident. Intoxication is not believed to be a factor in the collision, police previously said.
