Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Fort Madison man on multiple charges.
On Monday, September 13th, 2021, at about 2:43 AM the Sheriff’s Office received a call about a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road on Highway 61 at the skunk river bridge.
An arriving deputy found 39-year-old Angel Garcia of Fort Madison passed out in the driver’s seat. When the deputy was able to speak with Garcia, he performed field sobriety tests for the deputy.
Garcia failed the tests and was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 2nd offense, Open Container, and Driving Under Suspension.
A search of Garcia revealed he was in possession of Marijuana, and a Possession of a Controlled Substance charge was added. He was taken to the Des Moines County Jail on a $2,000.00 bond.
