Massive Apartment Fire Displaces 23 Families in Northeast Dallas

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF)- An overnight fire injures one and displaced 23 families in northeast Dallas and injured one person who was trying to escape the flame.

Flames were shooting through the roof of a 3-story Wood meadow Apartment building on Wood Meadow Parkway when Dallas Fire-Rescue arrived just before 1 a.m.

Mike Forbes from our media partner WFAA says one resident old him she believes that she made it out just in time.

The resident who was injured suffered burns to the feet after steppen on burning debris as he tried to run from the flames. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The cause of the fire which started on the 3rd floor is under investigation.

Jason Evans with DFR says that the American Red Cross was called to assist displaced families.
