The Atlanta Hawks did well when they drafted John Collins back in 2017, they got themselves a player who has the potential to go down in franchise history as one of their best. In his first four seasons, Collins has developed into one of the cornerstones of the franchise.

He had a max-type season in 2019-20 and as a result, he bet on himself by not signing his rookie-max deal. Fortunately for the Hawks faithful, Collins signed on this offseason, meaning that he will be with the franchise for the foreseeable future.

The Hawks faithful and franchise are all hoping that Collins will help them bring a championship to the city, they have all the ingredients to be at the top of the NBA for a long time. In the process though, Collins will move towards the top of many Hawks statistical lists.

The Atlanta Hawks are a better team with John Collins part of them.

Collins has shown the diversity that he has developed in his game given that he is 16th in blocks and 19th in 3-pointers made during his time with the Hawks so far. Given that he has only played four seasons in the NBA, this is a fairly impressive achievement.

However, looking further in the stats, Collins is just outside the Hawks’ top-30 in rebounds. He needs 11 to break into this list. If he keeps going at his current pace, Collins will break into the top-10 all-time for the Hawks by the end of the current contract.

Collins should also break into the top-30 all-time for points scored for the franchise. He needs just 584 points to break into this list. Again, he is looking good to break into the top-10 for the Hawks all-time by the end of the current contract.
