A 26-year-old Austintown man is scheduled for arraignment later this month after being indicted on a dozen charges in connection with a head-on traffic accident that injured two adults and two children.

The Mahoning County Grand Jury earlier this month handed up an indictment charging Dylan Walters with multiple counts of aggravated vehicular assault, vehicular assault, endangering children, and driving under the influence.

State troopers say that back in March, two SUV’s collided on State Route 46 between Kirk Road and Shields Road.

According to troopers, Walters was driving a Chevy Equinox that went left of center, striking a GMC Acadia being driven by 42-year-old Jessica Kohler of Canfield.

Both vehicles landed in a ditch.

Both drivers were taken to Mercy Hospital in Youngstown where Kohler was initially listed in critical condition.

Two of Walters’ passengers, both children, ages 7 and 5,  were taken to Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron.

The drivers were not wearing seatbelts. The children were properly restrained, according to troopers.

Walters was booked into the county jail on Wednesday, then released pending a court hearing scheduled for September 21.
