How to Face Scan
Welcome to the official IGN Wiki Guide and Walkthrough for NBA 2K22 [Next-Gen Version]. In this section, we'll guide you through the process of scanning your face into 2K22 for use in the MyPlayer mode. Thankfully, it's a pretty simple process once you know what to look for.
How to Face Scan in NBA 2K22
First, you need to download the official MyNBA2K22 companion app through either the Google Play or Apple App stores. The app wasn't available at launch, but can be downloaded now on either store. This app also makes it easier to enter Locker Codes for both MyPlayer and MyTeam. So, if you're planning to play either mode, it's definitely worth a download.
Once you have the app set up, head inside and log in with either your Sony, Microsoft, Steam, or Nintendo Switch account. When you're into the app proper, select the "Face Scan" option. Follow the on-screen prompts to fully scan your face. You'll need to take several images by tilting your head from the left to the right to get a full capture.
After all of that is over, head back into MyCareer in NBA 2K22. Go to the Appearance tab under the MyPlayer section of the mode's main menu. Then, press R1/RB twice to get to the Head Selection section. You should see the option to press Square/X to "Scan Your Face." Do this and you'll be able to use the scan you just made in the app.
We recommend finding a very well-lit area for the scan. If the space you're in is too dark, your face won't get picked up as well. Also, make sure you're tilting slowly during the scan to give the program the best chance at giving you a good scan. And, if it isn't up to your expectations, don't be afraid to try again.
