A Nebraska man was killed Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 80.

That’s according to the Iowa State Patrol, which says 83-year-old Jimmie Danielson of Lincoln was driving his 1969 MG convertible westbound between Tiffin and Oxford just after 11:45am when the car made contact with two other vehicles. The convertible, as well as a 2017 Dodge Ram 3500 and a 2016 Tesla, all ended up in the ditch. Danielson’s MG ended up on its top. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in Danielson’s convertible, 82-year-old Rose Hitz of Lincoln, was transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Her condition has not been released.

The State Patrol says Danielson and Hitz were both wearing their seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation.
