Predicting what the LA Clippers would do this offseason was not an easy thing to do. With Kawhi Leonard suffering a knee injury during their second-round playoff series with the Utah Jazz, he could be sidelined the entire 2021-22 NBA season.

Without Leonard, the Clippers fall short of being true contenders. After he went down, the team showed a lot of heart, defeating the Jazz twice to advance to the Western Conference Finals. There, they gave the Phoenix Suns all they could before losing in six games.

Paul George and Reggie Jackson did a lot of heavy lifting in the eight games without Leonard and will be tasked with doing so again this upcoming season. For the most part, they will be running it back with the same core this season and biding time until Leonard returns.

The biggest changes they made were adding Eric Bledsoe to the backcourt and taking a shot on Justise Winslow on the wing. Three guards, Keon Johnson, Jason Preston, and Brandon Boston, were acquired during the 2021 NBA Draft.

The point guard position has been an area the team has looked to upgrade in the past. Bledsoe could help, but they should not stop looking for deals to be made. Minnesota Timberwolves point guard D’Angelo Russell could be a good target for the team.
