Golden State Warriors fans are well aware of Steph Curry’s greatness on the court, so nobody should be surprised by the greatness and generosity he radiates to the Bay Area community off the court. This past Sunday, Steph and Ayesha Curry hosted the Workday Charity Classic, a golf event where the proceeds go directly to the Currys’ Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation.

Eat. Learn. Play. is a charity that provides underprivileged communities in the Bay Area with access to hot meals, books, and sports in order to make tangible differences for the families who live there. Curry believes that access to food, education, and physical activity are the pillars of a successful childhood and is doing everything he can with this foundation to make that happen.

From abc7news:

“We had big dreams,” said Stephen Curry. “There’s a reason we started it but you realize when you find the right partners what our vision is one thing but it doesn’t happen unless you have like-minded people that are committed to the mission and the cause. Hopefully, the community feels the impact. We are doing everything in our power to provide the necessary resources, time and resources to support.”

The foundation has already handed out over 17 million meals and is ramping up the community outreach after having to slow down due to the pandemic.

While many well-regarded athletes like Peyton Manning, Larry Fitzgerald, and Andre Iguadala participated in the event, it was Professional Golfer and Curry’s former opponent from The Match, Phil Mickelson, who provided the highlight that had Curry and some Golden State fans a little nervous.
