Wednesday, Collier County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 15-year-old boy and another suspect, whose name and age were redacted, after responding to a stabbing with injuries at The Point apartments in East Naples.

According to the arrest report, deputies were at a scene in the area of Greenback Circle at the complex after a call about a stabbing.

Investigators say a woman told them her son was stabbed by the two suspects. They were able to track the two down while they were trying to get away, and a knife was found in the pocket of the 15-year-old suspect.

The mother says her son was already taken to the hospital when deputies arrived at the scene. She says she and her mother were confronted by the two suspects, and when her mom showed them she had a baseball bat, they began to run away.

The victim was considered to have non-life-threatening injuries. He told deputies, who met him at the hospital, an altercation began after the suspects started mocking him while he was exercising at the complex’s gym.

At one point, the victim says one of the suspects dropped a gun and then got a knife from the 15-year-old before stabbing the victim. A witness shared a similar story to the victim’s and said the suspects ditched the gun behind a dumpster, and that’s where a K-9 unit found a small, silver gun.

Both the knife and the gun were brought into evidence.

The status of the victim was unknown Thursday.

The 15-year-old faces charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of tobacco product by a minor. The other suspect faces charges for trespassing with further investigation needed for charges of aggravated battery and possession of a firearm.

Both were booked into Collier County jail.
