Two suspects and a vehicle sought in connection with an August fatal hit-and-run in Rancho Cucamonga were captured in surveillance footage, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said Wednesday, Sept. 15.

The two suspects, a man and a woman, are linked to a Nissan Sentra with a spoiler that struck and killed a Rancho Cucamonga man crossing the street in the area of Fourth Street and Milliken Avenue on Aug. 21. It was not immediately clear which of the two suspects was driving the car at the time.

The victim was identified as 57-year-old Rick Porietis, the Sheriff’s Department said.

Porietis was crossing Fourth Street outside of a crosswalk at 8:18 p.m. when he was struck by the Nissan that was headed west on Fourth Street, the Sheriff’s Department said. The Nissan then fled the scene.

Porietis was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries, authorities said.

Anyone with information about the collision was asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at 909-477-2800.
