As we all continue to process the red carpet looks from The Met Gala, it’s time to look forward to all the other exciting things happening this week. And no, we aren’t just talking about the season three premiere of Sex Education. There are tons of new pop-ups, collabs, and reopenings to fill your calendar and stomach.
The Events
Friendly Market, the all-day market and festival at The Friend in Silver Lake, is coming back this Sunday, September 19th. Running from 1-6pm, expect various DJs, clothing pop-ups, and food vendors that include Calabama, home to one of our favorite breakfast sandwiches in town.
A few tickets are still available from Chainsaw’s latest pop-up garage dinner this Friday, September 17th in Echo Park. The dinner will include food from Asian-American pop-up Black Sheep and a brand new Almond Joy icebox pie for dessert. Admission is $50 per person and both proof of vaccination and a negative test within the last 72 hours are required for entry.

And in more pizza news, Superfine returns this weekend in the Fashion District. Technically the pies were available on Rossoblu’s menu throughout the pandemic, but starting this week, their stand-alone window is back open Monday through Friday, 11am-2pm. They’ll only be serving 12-inch whole pies for now (no word yet if they’ll be doing slices down the road), but either way, your Downtown lunch options just got a bit more exciting.
