Still at 49% of people fully vaccinated in Knox County

The vaccination rate for Knox County remains at 49%.

Knox County has administered more than 49,700 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, as of Sept. 13, according to data from the Illinois Department of Public Health.

That's up very slightly by 0.82% from the previous week's tally of 49,294 COVID-19 doses administered.

In Knox County, 49% of people living in Knox County are fully vaccinated as of Sept. 13. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

Illinois reported 1,573,538 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 2% from the week before.

The five counties with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in Illinois as of Sept. 13 are DuPage County (64%), Cook County (60%), Lake County (57%), Chicago (56%) and Kendall County (56%).
