Boston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday afternoon's series finale against left-hander Marco Gonzales and the Seattle Mariners.
Verdugo appears to be getting a breather after going 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Tuesday's win over Seattle. Kyle Schwarber is replacing Verdugo in left field and hitting sixth.
