COVID-19 concerns have forced another Lebanon County football team to postpone a game.

Cedar Crest announced Wednesday afternoon that its Week 4 game at Governor Mifflin originally scheduled for Friday night has been postponed due to COVID-related issues.

In an email reply to the Lebanon Daily News, Cedar Crest AD Rick Dissinger stated that, "Out of an abundance of caution and due to COVID related issues, we will be rescheduling the Varsity Football game this Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at Governor Mifflin and the JV game on Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at home vs. Governor Mifflin.”

The Cedar Crest Falcons take the field during the Cedar Bowl on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021.

Cedar Crest becomes the third Lebanon County team to have a game postponed this season due to COVID concerns. Annville-Cleona and Elco each had their season openers on Aug. 27 postponed due to COVID threats — A-C and Susquenita, Elco's Week 1 opponent, postponed the games. Also, last week, Palmyra had its game with West York postponed due to a general threat of violence that was believed to be related to tensions in the district over its mask policy.

Dissinger did not indicate when the game would be played, but Governor Mifflin has already picked up a new opponent for Friday — Harrisburg.

Cedar Crest is 2-1 for the season after last week's blowout loss at Carlisle. The Falcons had beaten Lebanon and Gettysburg handily to open the season.
