Fans of the Phoenix Suns will cringe at the sight of Devin Booker‘s name next to another logo. But Minnesota would be foolish to pass on the star guard.

The Timberwolves originally used this pick on superstar big Karl-Anthony Towns.

Since that time, the former Kentucky big-man has posted per-game averages of 22.9 points, 11.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game while shooting 39% from three and 53% from the field.

Why would the Wolves pass on this transcendent talent?

Despite possessing a star building block, the franchise’s team success has been nearly non-existent.

Minnesota has only appeared in one postseason (2017-2018) during Towns’ six-year career. That year was also led by current Heat star Jimmy Butler.

The success or failure of a team can seldom be placed on the shoulders of one player. However, Towns has yet to move the needle in any noticeable way.

The opposite has been true of Devin Booker.

The Suns’ cornerstone has also posted elite counting stats of 23 points and 4.6 assists per game on 35% from three and 46% from the field.

However, especially in recent seasons, Booker has been the focal point of a strong Phoenix team.

Booker began to emerge as a successful leader during the COVID bubble restart when he lead his team to an unmatched 8-0 record.

The following season, he paired with star Chris Paul to lead the Suns through a monstrous Western Conference field, to their first NBA Finals berth since the 1992-1993 campaign.

Booker is a bonafide superstar with a clear edge in team success. He earns top billing in this re-draft scenario.
