Head down to Historic 25th Street and the Nine Rails Creative District this Saturday for two free end-of-summer community events that will have nonstop family friendly fun all day long: the Harvest Moon Celebration, from noon to 8 p.m., is downtown and Fallapalooza will be at The Monarch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A community favorite, the Harvest Moon Celebration is aptly themed “Come Together” this year to commemorate its 20th anniversary and pay tribute to City Club’s 30th year on Historic 25th Street. Heidi Harwood, owner of the beloved downtown Beatles museum and bar, is one of the founders of Harvest Moon.
“Harvest Moon is close to our hearts,” stated Harwood in a release. “Let’s all embrace our support of local businesses, gather with family and friends, keep loving our gritty selves and ‘come together’ in our devotion to our treasured Ogden.”
Ogden Downtown Alliance (ODA), which now runs the Harvest Moon Celebration, is excited to welcome everyone back into downtown to celebrate the end of summer and support local businesses, many of which are new to the downtown area since the last Harvest Moon in 2019 and will be participating in the celebration for the first time.
“We feel like it’s extra special since our first year (on Historic 25th Street) falls on the 20th anniversary of Harvest Moon,” stated Brooke Barrigan, owner of Brookey Bakes, Historic 25th Street’s newest bakery, in the event release. “We will have items for sale honoring the anniversary, like ’20’ cupcakes and platinum ribbon on all of our packaging.”
Along with local businesses, the Harvest Moon Celebration brings live music (this year a Beatles cover band), food and beverages, a beer garden, artisan exhibits, community organizations, cultural performances and kids’ activities to the 100 and 200 blocks of Historic 25th Street for the free event. Beer will be available at designated beverage stations for guests 21 or older until 8 p.m. Only certified service animals will be allowed inside the event.
Social Axe Throwing, a climbing wall, photo booths, henna tattoos by Haia Henna and more are all returning. New this year is Northern Utah Cornhole, which will host a doubles cornhole competition at 1:30 p.m., with check-in at noon. MarketStar, one of Ogden’s private employers, will be hosting a kids mural painting activity.
Live music on two stages will run continuously throughout the day with Bill N Diane, Oaken Emerald, Marcus & Guy, Brett Turner Band, Dan Weldon, Divya School of Dance, The Power Trio and more, ending with Imagine: Remembering the Fab Four at 6:30 p.m. on the main stage to close out the night. ODA’s Fall Market will also be happening on Saturday, from 8 a.m to 1 p.m., in the 300 block of 25th Street between Washington Boulevard and Grant Avenue.

Just east of 25th Street, The Monarch is also presenting the first annual Fallapalooza to celebrate the new fall season with the community on Saturday.
The Monarch, “a collaborative environment where artists, creative businesses and makers of all types can connect, inspire and create together,” developed by Fischer Regan Enterprises LLC, has hosted regular Saturday markets since early this year that feature a beer garden, live music, plus specialty food and art vendors, with the occasional bigger market celebrations, such as the June Pride Celebration and Beehive Bash on July 24.
Now, the first annual Fallapalooza is here to welcome fall.
For the autumn bash, The Monarch is turning into a festival zone with donut-eating and pie-throwing contests, the Ogden Valley Southwest BBQ food truck, a beer garden, live music, art classes, over 40 vendors and more. Food contests begin at 1 p.m. with limited spots. Guests can sign up upon arrival.
Monarch Market coordinator Kacey Holmstead says she loves being at The Monarch during the markets. “Since I have been helping organize these markets, I have witnessed friendships blossom with both vendors and the community,” she said. “I feel like I get to take part in something very inspiring.”
This Saturday’s Fallapalooza is a family-friendly event for all ages. The beer garden will have craft beers from UTOG and Roosters Brewing Co., and live music on the patio from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a great lineup of local musicians: Paddy Teglia, Rorry Forbush and Compass Rose with DJ Bryson Deardon spinning vinyl in The Gist.
Special art classes are available from two of The Monarch creatives: Hope and Evolution will host a flower crown class for $40, and Wild Meraki has a pulp painting workshop for $50, both at noon. Vendors include Salt Lake Syrups, Brookey Bakes, Cheryls Bagels, Seek4Chocolate, Banana Bread Boy, Plant Kandy, Wired Up Creations, StonesSense, Black Fox Oddities, Bonita Boutique and many more.
Holmstead says there will be a little something for everyone, and the entire Monarch team and its creatives look forward to offering a fall celebration to bring the community together.
“It’s inspiring to see the makers’, artists’ and creators’ eyes light up when they talk about their creations, be it food or anything else,” Holmstead said. “The energy is amazing — not to mention the amount of local music talent we get to join us on these Saturdays. I feel blessed to witness it all.”
