Thirty-five additional COVID-19 deaths and 1,805 new positive cases were reported Wednesday by West Virginia health officials.
The state Department of Health and Human Resources reported there were 27,674 active COVID-19 cases in the state, which is a decrease of 361 from Tuesday.
The daily positivity rate also decreased, going from 15.87% Tuesday to 10.85% Wednesday. The cumulative positivity rate increased from 5.54% Tuesday to 5.57% Wednesday.
Hospitalization data was not updated as of 10 a.m. Wednesday. The most recent update showed 879 hospitalizations, including 267 in intensive care units and 158 on ventilators.
The latest deaths raise the total number of COVID deaths in the state to 3,296. The most recent deaths were:

On the county alert map, 43 counties were in red, nine counties were in orange, one county was in gold, one county was in yellow and one county was in green. The map was based on Tuesday’s data.
The DHHR said 10,677 West Virginians who were fully vaccinated have received an additional dose. As of Wednesday, 64.4% of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Updated data shows that 0.89% of fully vaccinated residents have tested positive for COVID-19, while 0.011% of those vaccinated residents have died.
COVID-19 Delta variant cases were up to 1,783.
